v0.93 Release - Full Game Text is Finished!!

Hoyhooooy

I actually skipped over an official release, doing major changes to the game and even writing a changelog for a release that never even happened! So that's fun. So now, you all are getting two releases for the price of one.

Note: Only the "Spreads" version is available for v0.93. "Pages" will make their return in v0.94. Genuinely sorry for this inconvenience. It's not anyone's idea of a good time, over here.

Changelog - v0.92

  • Removed reference to the Seize Initiative grit option, a holdover from an earlier version. Replaced with current version's bonus damage/reduced damage grit options.
  • Fixed the requirement for Heart of Light talent (p. 124) to read "Arklight only" instead of "Any Invoker".
  • Major changes to Auto-Attack to bring it more in line with other options while retaining a tactical utility: no longer inflicts piercing damage, no longer prevented from being used if you've used any other attack options. Just as it was in most previous playtests, Auto-Attack is now a once-per-round thing that basically everyone can do every round. The change from piercing to physical means that soak still applies, so it doesn't necessarily affect elites & bosses a whole lot, but will greatly speed up dealing with minions.
    • Very Importantly: Auto-Attack still has the Attack tag, so it's still something that won't even inflict damage unless you time your use of it correctly or have talents allowing you to reduce or avoid multi-attack damage penalties (e.g. Multiattack talent).
    • Also note: Punishment *still* inflicts piercing damage. It is therefore further differentiated from Auto-Attack. This was done intentionally to make sure punishment remains a... uh... punishing mechanic.
  • Changes to creature stat bullet points in Creatures & Folk, clarifying Auto-Attack damage and adjusting special ability allocations.
  • Changed the "War-Walker" entry (p. 212 Core Rulebook) in the vehicles table to "Wargod Walker" to differentiate it from the friendly, happy-go-lucky "War Walker" construct (p. XX Oradam Rift Worldbook).

Changelog v0.93

  • Cleaned up some odd/incongruous examples & wording in Chapter 2.
  • Rune Magus power En Vai Bruma had the incorrect advancement options.
  • Changed the cheeky nickname for Striker callings from "glass cannons" to "lawnmowers" to better fit the pastoral vibe of the other roles' nicknames, in chapter 3.

Oradam Rift Worldbook completed (except for KS bonus section)!!

  • Chapter 10 "Gaaln & the Hellquake" introduces the world of Gaaln and the key history and features of the Oradam Rift setting.
  • Chapter 11 "Oradam Rift Characters" gives you a ton of information about homelands & traits for your Oradam Rift characters.
  • Chapter 12 "Life in the Rift" gives you a lot of worldbuilding info to understand the Rift and its inhabitants.
  • Chapter 13 "The Unshrouded Lands" introduces you to the newly revealed Unshrouded Lands, the various governments of the Rift's designs upon the region, and tools for generating randomized Unshrouded holms.
  • Chapter 14 "Monsters & Mistborn" introduces a complement of 35 premade monsters and new rules expanding those found in chapter 9 of the Core Rulebook.

KNOWN ISSUES TO FIX IN v0.94:

  • EXTREME and PERVASIVE fidelity/quality issues with some pictures throughout (most noticeable to me with the black & white silhouette images and the primary Calling key art but clearly visible ALLLL throughout). Smudgy pictures are an artifact of the "optimization" process, which I'm still experimenting with and perfecting.
    • v0.94 will be much better, I promise. I've already learned a lot about where & how to downsample to keep the file size under control.
  • The FUCKING SPLASH IMAGE... for part 2, the Oradam Rift Worldbook.. SOMEHOW... got made crooked and cut off at an angle (it's literally my fault there's literally no one else to blame, somehow I twisted it or did... SOMETHING?? And then didn't notice for LITERAL HOURS while I was working on tweaking the file size & settings, until it was WAY too late to fix). Will be fixed. With a particular vengeance, because holy crap, what??
  • Page numbers re-start counting after "Part 2" (the Oradam Rift Worldbook) starts. This wasn't originally an "issue", but was intentional, but after seeing it in practice it looks bad and was a bad idea, so I'm fixing it.
  • Multiple formatting issues with action names not being in bold text. Mostly in chapter 4.
  • "... formes of spellcraft" on first page of Witch section of Chapter 4 - Characters.
