PROJECT ANIMUS Ver. 1.1 Update!

It's been about a week or so since the game was released, and I've finally gotten around to some of the bugbears and sorely needed tweaks I've found and others have pointed out to me.

Version 1.1 update log:

  • Table of Contents links keep breaking when I export the document for some reason, so I’ve changed it to a page number-based ToC for now. Much more useful than a bunch of broken links, at least. Should be linked again soon, when I figure out how to keep them working or re-add them manually. The new ToC is much larger than the old one, and has therefore added a few pages to the document’s size.
  • Removed “Spiritual Attacks” entry (formerly pg. 20) under “Unusual Types of Attacks” heading in Chapter 2. This was a remnant of an earlier draft of the game, and shouldn’t have been included. Its functionality was largely rolled into Void-damage abilities and effects.
  • Added further detail to the last paragraph in “Death + Dying” (formerly pg. 25).
  • Normalized errant instances of the “Sneak” skill to the appropriate name - that being “Stealth”. Another holdover from an earlier version of the manuscript.
  • Normalized errant instances of “Gather Power” and “Focus Energy” into the correct name of the action - “Gather Energy”.
  • Changed the “Spray” weapon quality to work differently. It is no longer a cone AoE, now it allows you to pick a number of targets in front of you within the weapon’s range. As this is potentially a significant nerf, the “Blaster Weapon” ranged weapon template (formerly pg. 84) has had its range increased from 20 to 30 to help soften the blow to the efficacy of Blaster Weapon builds a little bit.
  • Replaced all instances of “pg. XX” with the appropriate page reference. There were something like 150 of the little bastards, but it needed to be done and I'm glad I finally got around to it.

I also have a new cover image made by the wonderful Venx (@VENXIART on twitter). It will be added to the final Full Graphic Edition I'm working on right now. That version- likely with some more tweaks and revisions here and there- will be released sometime in the next month, as long as my day job and other stressors remain at about their current levels.
